Man’s best friend is enjoying privileged status these days: More rental properties and retail establishments than ever before are pet-friendly and welcome dogs and their owners.

What cities are the most accommodating of canine companions? Forbes Advisor looked at 93 large cities across the U.S. and considered several factors, chief among them access to parks, the availability of apartments that allow dogs and how much they charge in pet rent.

The best ones, Forbes noted, “have a fair number of dog parks and access to parks with just a 10-minute walk.”

The metropolises most amendable to dog ownership are:
