Nashville Suburb Fire Department Adopts Shareable First Responder and Inspections Technologies
RealView’s Life-Saving CommandScopeTM and Mobile Inspections Tools Work in Tandem for Goodlettsville Fire Department and Mutual Aid Stations Alike
GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (May 24, 2016) – The Goodlettsville, Tenn., Fire Department, which operates across this north-Nashville suburb is adopting a pair of digital tools that will work together in assisting save lives and property in cases of emergencies. CommandScopeTM, developed by Chicago-based RealView, LLC, is a pre-plan technology that provides first responders with critical knowledge of buildings, the property and the occupants inside. RealView Mobile Inspection is a paperless tablet application for streamlining inspections, audits, and compliance requirements that can be used with or without an internet connection.
CommandScope provides first responders with instant en route access to site plans, floor plans, hazardous material details, utility shut-off locations, geographical maps, fire hydrants locations, and other critical building and infrastructure information. All of Goodlettsville Fire’s detailed information can now be easily updated and then accessed in the event of an incident. They also can share it with local law enforcement and mutual aid fire departments.
Goodlettsville, a growing town with a population of nearly 17,000, has only one fire station and relies on Metro Nashville for assistance with fire services through an automatic aid agreement. CommandScope’s shareability means Nashville firefighters will be as smart about Goodlettsville properties as the local firefighters are. That eliminates guesswork even for first responders who have never set foot inside those buildings.
“It is imperative for first responders to have access to vital pre-plan information,” said Kevin Oldenburg, account executive at RealView. “CommandScope provides user-friendly, inexpensive technology that educates responders from every direction and arms them with the knowledge they need to save both lives and property.”
Designed to improve efficiency, RealView Mobile Inspection saves time and money for any inspector. By utilizing a tablet, inspectors have the ability to electronically submit compliance checklists and even issue “alerts” or “service requests” from the field in a user-friendly, one-step process. It also makes for quick uploading of data into the CommandScope program.
