Stay in the cab: It’s an HLA
From roadside repair to snow removal, HLA Attachments and HLA Snow take the hassle out of handling any material a city might need to move, no matter the season or the weather conditions. For the last 20 years HLA Snow has been committed to providing customers with innovative equipment. With a comprehensive line up of snow and ice management tools, HLA Snow has the right blade, pusher, bucket or spreader for your team. For a job done right, use the right equipment — and save on labor and unexpected damages in the process.
Spring, summer, fall
When that season is storm season, HLA attachments are at their best. Brush-handling units for front-end loaders and skid steer loaders can make all kinds of headway in removing debris: Use the debris grapple fork for smaller brush, and the root rake grapple for larger debris. Because storm damage comes in every shape and size, there are attachment sizes to fit small skid steers up to full-size backhoe loaders. Paired with the appropriate-sized machine for the job, these attachments are invaluable in reducing manual labor.
Larry Bowman, inside sales representative, noted HLA Attachments also has a variety of tools designed for landscaping. During roadside or median seeding, the HLA landscape rake picks up small stones and debris so seeding can begin. It can then be switched out for a hydraulic rotary broom, which can be used at intersections of paved and dirt roads, or to clean up any roadway or public parking lots. Like most HLA attachments, the units can be utilized on either skid steer loaders or backhoe loaders. One key feature of the hydraulic rotary broom is that it can be mounted on any tractor with an HLA snowplow mount kit. This allows the tractor to be used for snow removal in the winter and street sweeping in the summer.
One of HLA Attachments’ most popular new labor-saving product is a side-discharge bucket. When crews are working with curbing and need to backfill boulevards, the side-discharge bucket allows a driver to unload soil while driving parallel to the area where it’s needed. Conventional buckets, on the other hand, require that one worker drive up and dump a load of topsoil, and others spread it — a process that requires several members of the work crew. Side discharge buckets reduce the labor and time required to do that same task.
Spread topsoil or aggregate material on flowerbeds or medians by attaching the side-discharge unit to the front of a small wheel loader. Side discharge is also a tremendously time-saving advantage in trenching operations, where it adds fill sand both quickly and evenly.
Dominating in winter
HLA Snow products are engineered and field tested by a dedicated staff. They bear the cold and scrape their knuckles in real-world environments to ensure that when you receive an HLA product, it performs as promised.
The popular SnowWing series’ extensive lineup includes models to fit any machine from a 6,000-pound skid steer to a 60,000- pound wheel loader. From small parking lots to large airports, many contractors have taken advantage of the efficiency the Snow- Wing plows bring to their operation.
The Six-Way V-plow series is the tried-and-true solution to snow- and ice-covered paths and roadways. While the 4600V is a parks and recreation director’s go-to tool for clearing narrow trails, whole cities along the East Coast have learned that nothing makes quicker work of clearing snowy sidewalks than the 3600V. Both can be mounted to an appropriately sized skid steer loader or tractor, making HLA attachments as cost effective as they are versatile.
Among the latest in HLA Snow’s make-thejob-easier products is a salt and sand spreader that can be mounted on a skid steer or the back of a small tractor. Remove snow with the front-end plow attachment and salt or sand at the same time with a single machine.
“When it’s mounted on the back of a tractor, you actually have a self-loading option,” said Inside Sales Representative Eli Martin. You can back it up to the salt or sand pile and fill without having to bring in another unit during a storm event. If you have sand or salt containment on site, the single unit is all you need.”
