‘The biggest show in public works’ works for The Municipal readers and advertisers
At the 2012 American Public Works Association International Congress and Exposition in Anaheim, Calif., which took place Aug. 26-29, Christi Sausaman and Matt Dudlak spent three days getting to know the conscientious and hard-working people who keep cities across the nation running.
“The APWA show provided us with an opportunity to meet people representing companies and municipalities from across the country and Canada,” said Dudlak. “We were able to learn more about the companies we currently represent in The Municipal and gain a better understanding of the products and services they offer. For example, I had the pleasure of meeting a few representatives from Trackless Vehicles and had the opportunity to sit inside one of their vehicles. It was just amazing to see all the bells and whistles included in the machine as I got a firsthand look at the advancements in technology for cold weather road care.”
Engineers, municipal arborists, landfill managers and others filled two large exhibit halls at the center to learn take their own close-up looks at the road monitoring equipment from High Sierra Electronics, hitched and free-standing safety accessories from MDI Worldwide, VMAC’s green vehicle air compressors and thousands of other tools and pieces of equipment. Under the watchful eye of Murphy, the entertaining Republic Services robot whose antics caught a number of attendees’ attention, participants compared notes, caught up and attended dozens of training sessions as well.
If we didn’t get a chance to meet you, we certainly hope to do so at one of our appearances at fall gatherings. Stop by and say hello!
