The world’s first propane-powered post driver
Tippmann Industrial Products Inc. manufactures the Propane Hammer, the world’s first propane powered post driver.
Equipped with a side mount adapter for driving U-channel posts, the Propane Hammer is also remarkably efficient at driving T posts, silt fence, and any other type of sign post, ground rod or rebar up to 3.5 inches in diameter. The propane hammer drives posts into hard, dry, frozen and rocky ground. Never before has installing signposts, silt fence, ranch fence, highway fence or farm fence been so simple.
Tippmann has been in the manufacturing business for over 30 years and has come up with a patented system for using propane to drive posts in a fashion like none other. Propane is cost effective and time efficient, and allows the user to operate the unit and drive several hundred posts on a single, 16.9-ounce propane tank. When the tank runs out, simply put in a new tank and be back to work within seconds — saving time and saving money.
The Propane Hammer weighs less than 45 pounds and is completely self-contained, allowing the user the freedom to work in remote areas. There is no need for air compressors, hydraulic units or any other type of external power source, which means this unit can be easily operated by one person — even for U-channel post driving.
The side mount adapter fastens quickly to all U-channel posts, ranging in size from a two-pound-per-foot all the way up to a four-pound-per-foot post. Whether the job calls for driving an eight-foot post or a 14-foot post, this adapter will allow the operator to drive from a comfortable height with his or her feet on the ground.
The adapter is equipped with 11 sturdy attachment pins, which fit all major manufacturer hole patterns. The side mount adapter is held in place by a long retaining pin and clevis.
